🌱 Finding Your New Rhythm

September doesn’t have to be about getting everything right.

It’s about figuring out what works for your family.

Maybe mornings are still a little chaotic.
Maybe bedtime is taking longer than usual.
Maybe your child is tired from all the changes.
Maybe your schedule looks completely different than it did a few weeks ago.

That’s okay. 💛

Give yourself time to find your rhythm.

Celebrate the little wins.
Keep routines simple when you can.
Build in opportunities to rest.
And remember that adjustment is a process—not a deadline.

✨ Small steps still count.

Here’s to a September filled with patience, flexibility, and lots of grace for ourselves and our children. 🍂

🍂 A Little September Reminder…

It’s okay to take a break. 💛

When September gets busy, it can feel like there is always one more thing to do—another appointment, activity, schedule change, email, or routine to figure out.

But rest is important too.

You don’t have to fill every afternoon.
You don’t have to say yes to everything.
You don’t have to make every moment productive.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is slow down, have a quiet evening, enjoy some extra cuddles, or simply breathe. 🌿

Taking a break isn’t falling behind. It’s making space to recharge.

Give yourself permission to pause. You’re doing enough. 💛

📚🍎 September Is A LOT!

New routines. New schedules. New classrooms. New activities. Earlier mornings. Later afternoons. And somehow… we’re expected to have it all figured out right away! 😅

For many families, September can be a BIG transition. It’s completely okay if things feel a little messy while everyone adjusts.

Give yourself—and your child—time to settle into the new routine. 💛

✨ New routines take time.
✨ Transitions can be challenging.
✨ Flexibility is okay.
✨ Progress doesn’t have to happen all at once.

You don’t have to have September perfectly figured out. You’re allowed to take it one day at a time.

☀️ What a Summer It’s Been! 💜

What a summer it’s been at Ohana Summer Camp! 🌈☀️

From messy hands and creative projects to themed adventures, sensory play, silly moments, quiet breaks, new friendships and LOTS of laughter… our campers have packed this summer full of memories! 💜

We’ve watched children explore, create, communicate, problem-solve, build confidence, practice friendship skills and discover new interests—all while having FUN and being themselves. ✨

Every child brought something special to camp, and we are so proud of the growth, courage and joy we’ve seen throughout the summer.

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing camp staff for bringing each day to life with patience, creativity and enthusiasm. 💜 And thank you to all of our Ohana families for trusting us to be part of your child’s summer!

Most of all, thank you to our campers for making this summer so memorable. 🥰

Here’s to the friendships made, the skills learned, the laughter shared and the memories that will last long after summer is over. 🌈

🚀 Welcome to Our Solar System! 🌎✨

3… 2… 1… BLAST OFF! 🚀

Our campers took a trip through the Solar System right here at Summer Camp! 🌙🪐✨

Through hands-on activities, crafts and exploration, our campers had the opportunity to learn about the planets while practicing fine-motor skills, following directions, making choices, problem-solving and sharing their discoveries with others. 💫

We love finding ways to turn learning into something fun, engaging and meaningful—because when children are interested and having fun, there are so many opportunities to learn and grow! 💜

From Mercury to Neptune, our campers explored, created and reached for the stars! 🌟

Who knows where our next adventure will take us? 🚀💜

Practice Makes…School Days Easier! 🎒✨

Before the first day of school arrives, there are lots of everyday skills you can practice at home!

Try turning these into little practice opportunities:

🎒 Pack the backpack — What belongs inside?
👟 Getting dressed — Practice the morning routine
🍎 Snack & lunch — Open containers and practice eating independently
⏰ Following a schedule — “First breakfast, then get dressed, then shoes!”
🚌 Transitions — Practice stopping one activity and moving to the next
🧼 Self-care — Hand washing, toileting, brushing teeth and more
👋 Social skills — Greeting others, asking for help and saying goodbye

And remember, practice doesn't need to look exactly like school. Every opportunity to build independence is valuable! 🌟

Let's celebrate the little victories along the way. 💙

Back to School, Back to Routines! 🍎📚

The transition from summer fun back to a regular routine can take a little time—and that’s okay! 💛

A few simple ways to help make the transition smoother:

✨ Start shifting bedtime and wake-up times gradually
✨ Reintroduce morning and evening routines
✨ Practice getting dressed, packing a bag, and following a visual schedule
✨ Talk about what to expect when school starts
✨ Visit the school or classroom if possible
✨ Give your child time to adjust to the changes

Remember: preparation doesn’t have to be perfect! Small steps can help children feel more comfortable, confident, and ready for what’s ahead. 🌱

At Ohana IBI/ABA Services, we know that transitions and changes in routine can look different for every child. Our goal is to support children and families as they build skills for everyday life—one step at a time. 💙
